The film 100UP analyzes the will to life. It depicts a colorful assortment of 100-plus-year-olds from around the world. They have lived for almost a century and watched big historical events, yet instead of concentrating on the past, they look forward. With the clock inexorably ticking, these centenarians cling to life and set new objectives with a zest for life, refusing to acknowledge the treachery of their decaying bodies. Time is both their adversary and their ally. They have fought sicknesses, lost spouses, and some of them have even survived their own children. Nonetheless, these vivacious, inquisitive, and inventive 100-plus-year-olds are very adept at beginning each day again.
