Tired of this noise and insanity of ny and the devastating conventions of late night Eisenhower-era America, itinerant journalist Paul Kemp travels into Puerto Rico's pristine island to write for a San Juan paper run by the downtrodden editor Lotterman. Adopting the lifestyle of this overdue'variant of Hemingway's'The Lost Generation','' Paul gets entangled with a very attractive woman and her fiancée. It is within this world that Kemp eventually finds his true voice.
