It Is No Dream: The Life Of Theodor Herzl
Moriah Films' most recent film, It Is No Dream: The Life of Theodor Herzl, delves into the life and times of Theodor Herzl, the current state of Israel's forefather. The film, narrated by Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley and starring Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz as Theodor Herzl, examines how Herzl, a well-known journalist and playwright, an assimilated, Budapest-born Jew who was horrified by the Dreyfus trial in Paris and the spread of anti-Semitism across Europe, took on the task of attempting to establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine against all odds. Herzl organized and led a global political movement over an eight-year period that culminated in the foundation of the state of Israel within 50 years. Herzl is followed throughout the film as he talks with Kings, Prime Ministers, Ambassadors, a Sultan, a Pope, and government ministers from Constantinople to St. Petersburg, Paris to Berlin, and Vienna to Vilna in his mission to found a Jewish nation.
