Old Gringo
When faculty teacher Harriet Winslow goes to Mexico to teach, she is intimidated by Gen. Tomas Arroyo and his revolutionaries. A aging American, Ambrose"Old Gringo" Bierce also in Mexico, Be-friends Gen. Arroyo and meets Harriet. Bierce is so he could determine their own fate, wishes to keep his identity secret. Though he likes Arroyo, Bierce attempts to provoke the anger possible in a effort to have himself murdered avoiding suffering through his disease of the General. Bierce and Arroyo intrigues winslow, and the men are in turn. She becomes romantically involved in Arroyo.
