Painted Woman
'Painted Woman,' based on Dusty Richards' novel "Mustanger and the Lady," tells the narrative of Julie Richards. Julie is a traditional woman who has been passed from hand to hand in a labyrinth of abuse and prostitution that has landed her at Kyle Allison's feet. Allison, a wealthy powerbroker in Goldfield's old west town, brought Julie into his home and turned her into his trophy. This existence came with the benefit of being looked after, but it also came with the expense of additional abuse. Julie is given two opportunities to escape with two very different men as her time with Allison draws to a deadly close... Julie's life is divided into two distinct chapters in PAINTED WOMAN, each of which mirrors the other. Julie first meets Frank in Chapter One. In the town of Goldfield, it is mostly told at night. The Mustanger is the focus of the second chapter. It is set in the outdoors and is primarily narrated during the day.
