The Cranes Are Flying
Boris and veronika come together shortly before World War II. Walking along the river, they see cranes promise, and then fly overhead to rendezvous until Boris leaves to fight. Whereas Veronika waits patiently and sending letters the meeting is missed by boris and it is off into the front lines. After her home is bombed, Veronika moves with Boris' family, into the company of a cousin with their own intentions.
