The Miracle Worker
This is the true story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan, a heart-pounding battle to get over impossible obstacles and learn to communicate. She gets scarlet fever when she is a child, and it makes her very ill. This means that she is now blind, mute, and deaf because of the illness that she has had. Helen is cut off from the rest of the world. She can't talk to anyone, and no one can talk to her, too. People in Helen's family are scared to death when she rages and throws tantrums. To help Helen Keller learn about the world outside of her own body, Annie Sullivan is called by her family. She helps the girl understand the world she isn't allowed to see. The 1962 movie was made into a TV show. Patty Duke played Helen Keller in the movie.
