The Square
The Square, a new film by Jehane Noujaim (Control Room. Rafea: Solar Mama), discusses the hard realities faced day-to-day by people working to build Egypt's new democracy. Catapulting us into the actions spread across 2012 and 2011, the film provides a kaleidoscopic connection with the struggle. Cairo's Tahrir Square is the center and soul of the film, which follows younger activists. Armed with conclusion, values, songs, comedy, plenty of social media, and obstinacy, they are aware that the road to Christianity began with the fall of Hosni Mubarek. The struggle between the state's power and the people is playing out.
