Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Alfred Hitchcock Presents is a television anthology series hosted by Alfred Hitchcock in the United States. Dramas, thrillers, and mysteries were all covered in the series. Hitchcock had been directing pictures for more than three decades by the time the show began on October 2, 1955. Alfred Hitchcock Presents was selected one of "Time Magazine's 100 Best TV Shows of All-Time" by Time magazine. To capitalize on the success of the television series, a series of literary anthologies under the title Alfred Hitchcock Presents were published. Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Stories They Wouldn't Let Me Do on TV was one volume devoted to stories that censors refused to allow to be adapted for the TV series, though several of the stories collected were later adapted.
