Globe Trekker
Globe Trekker is an experience tourism tv show produced by Pilot Productions. The lonelyplanet travelbooks inspired the show and started broadcasting in 1994. Globe Trekker is broadcast over 40 countries across two continents.
Each episode referred to as a traveller, who travels with a camera team to some country -- usually, a locale includes a host --and experiences the sights, sounds, and civilization which the positioning has to offer. Special episodes feature complete city, beach, dive, shopping, history, festival, and food guides.
The series usually goes far beyond popular tourist destinations to be able to offer an even more real look at culture to viewers. Presenters participate in various aspects of regional life, such as attending to a traditional wedding or visiting a mining area. They address the audience right, acting as tourists-turned-tour guides, however, will be filmed discovering interesting locations in sequences that are unrehearsed and interacting with locals. Globe Trekker sometimes includes brief interviews with backpackers who talk about advice on traveling in that nation.
