Hillside
The Canadian-American teen drama Hillside (known in the United States as Fifteen) aired from 1991 to 1993 on YTV in Canada. John T. Binkley created and produced the sole teenage soap opera on Nickelodeon. Similar to the majority of daytime dramas, the show was shot on videotape. The series was originally envisioned as Fifteen in an unscripted format for The Disney Channel, where a 13-episode pilot was made and tested in the United States. Following Disney's decision not to move forward with the project, Nickelodeon and Canadian partners joined Binkley in producing the series, which was known as Hillside in Canada for its first and second seasons, and as Fifteen in the United States for its entire 65-episode run. Subsequently, the show was syndicated internationally, including runs in Germany and Israel. Over the course of the show's four-season run, the ensemble cast has seen various changes. Laura Harris, Enuka Okuma, and Ryan Reynolds are among the notable cast members.
