Soldier Soldier
Soldier Soldier is actually a British television drama show. The title comes from a traditional song of the same name -"Soldier, soldier are you going to marry me, along with your musket, fife and drum" - of which was used because its theme music, a worthy version.
Manufactured by Central Television and broadcast on the ITV system, it ran from 1991 to 1997 for a total of 82 episodes along with seven seasons. It featured the daily lives of friends of soldiers in'B' Company, 1st Battalion The King's Fusiliers, a British Army infantry regiment loosely based around the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Place in the aftermath of the Cold War, it is regarded to mid-1990s, once the British Army was undergoing change. This is best exhibited around 1994, when a substantial quantity of regiments were forced into amalgamations with one another thanks to down sizing of the army, during the 3rd show. At Soldier Soldier's world, the King's Fusiliers are also forced to amalgamate with another regiment, the Cumbrian Regiment, getting the King's Own Fusiliers. Soldier Soldier has been broadcast, and the fatality rate was low with the majority of casualties on account of suicides and training injuries. The military in general was delegated than doing some fighting to performing peacekeeping missions. As a consequence, the series served well to portray the army in a light that was good.
