Star Trek: The Animated Series
It's an animated television series based on the events of Star Trek: The Original Series from the 1960s, called simply "Star Trek." To distinguish it from the original live-action Star Trek, the animated series first broadcast under the moniker Star Trek. First, there was popular demand for a Star Trek rebirth, which led to the 1973–1974 syndication of the original live-action series and the 1979 live-action feature film, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." For nearly a decade following Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country in 1991, the 'TAS' series was the final opportunity for the original cast to portray the characters on-screen before their "cartoon like" appearances in Star Trek: 25th Anniversary computer game and Star Trek: Judgment Rites sequel. Star Trek: TAS was the first series to win an Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in science fiction television.
