Flighty Emily "Jacks" Jackson works for the British edition of Vogue magazine. Rather than chase a partnership, Jacks regularly hooks up with her devoted ex-boyfriend, James Wildstone, and lives with Peter Simon, a gay screenwriter. If Jacks and Argentinian photographer Paolo Sarmiento meet, she supposes that he's homosexual and attempts to bring him and Peter together, oblivious that Paolo is in love with her and directly.
