The Book of Delights
Clarice Lispector's novel Uma Aprendizagem or O Livro dos Prazeres is brought up to date in the film. Lóri is a lonely and melancholy woman in the plot. She spends her time between her duties as a teacher and her romances, which are always fleeting and fleeting. By coincidence, she meets Ulisses, a well-known Philosophy professor who is self-centered and provocative. Despite his lack of knowledge about women, Lóri learns to love and bear her own loneliness with him.
