Punishment
Punishment is a Australian television soap opera made by the Reg Grundy Organisation for the Ten Network in 1981.
Place at a men's prison, the series attempted to exhibit a form of the soap Prisoner. Efforts by the manufacturers to differentiate the series of the show watched Punishment imbued with increased realism. Nevertheless, high figures were not attracted by the formula. Network Ten deemed the newest string a failure after only three episodes had gone into atmosphere, and it was quickly removed from the schedules. The rest of these 26 episodes were displayed that season. For a soap opera, the series was taped using the camera technique.
The cast featured several notable Australian actors including Barry Crocker, Brian Wenzel, Michael Preston, Ross Thompson, Anne Haddy, George Spartels, Cornelia Frances, Lisa Peers and Julie McGregor. Mel Gibson played with a captive in the very first incident. Kris McQuade and with the girl friend of Gibson's personality played and was phased out of the string thanks to Gibson's passing. The plan was produced and directed by Alan Coleman.
